A Trip With My Granddaughter

This week my granddaughter and I went to Calloway Gardens.  She lives in Florida and has been staying with us this month.  She is a gifted photographer and I thought there would be lots of photo potential there.  It’s pretty nice to have a chance to spend quality time with one grandchild at a time and we had a wonderful conversation while on the road. The trip from my house is a little less than two hours so there was plenty of time to catch up on everything!

I don’t know if you have ever been to the butterfly house there but it is just incredible!  We spent about an hour there and I came nowhere close to counting all the different varieties butterflies we saw! It was truly a beautiful sight and if you’re lucky sometimes they even land on you!  There is just one problem – it’ really hot in there.  After just an hour there was so much sweat running down our faces we had trouble seeing!  However, we did get some photos and I wanted to share with you.

If you like butterflies, this is the place to go!  I haven’t had a chance to look up their names yet so if you know what it is, I would love to hear from you.

The flowers are tropical and just as gorgeous as the butterflies.  Does anyone know what this is?

The next time we go we are going to try the zip lines that are on the grounds there.  Maybe we’ll wait until it is a little cooler!
